Another success for the rowing club of Souda.

After the remarkable presence of the N.A.O. Soudas Rowing Club in the National championships in Corfu and Ioannina, another success adds to the assets of the Group for 2012, the result of hard and methodical work of the coaches and the athletes, is demonstrating that there is past - present and future.
The Club’s Rowing Athlete George Hatzicostas after winning the silver medal in double Sculls at the Development Pan-Hellenic Games held in Corfu on 7 and 8 July 2012 (double Sculls crew where George Hatzicostas - Bill Hatzidakis) and the evaluation of athletes had been in February 2012 by the Greek Rowing Federation which had become 1st at the tests, he called to the development coaching commune of the National Junior Team that will take place in Ioannina from 1 until August 6, 2012, under the guidance of Federal coach Mrs. Gianniou Dimitra and her coaching group.
In this national coach commune with 33 boys and 14 girls from all over Greece are expected to staff the National Rowing Team in the coming years
The Board of Directors of the N.A.O. Soudas compliments the department's Rowing Coaches Mr. Daniel Chomatas and Mrs. Dimitra Ladaki for methodical and hard work done, and also the above athlete for his success and wishes them all the best.
Finally worth noting is that the N.A.O. Soudas Rowing Club is the only group in Greece that created Rowing Academy (nursery) with children aged 8 and older. The results of this initiative are now visible.
78th Pan-Hellenic Rowing Championship

With significant successes and many experiences returned the rowing crews of Nautical Athletic Club of Souda from the Second Phase of the 78th Pan-Hellenic Rowing Championship for Children which took place on Saturday 21 and Sunday, July 22 in Pamvotis lake of Ioannina.
The crews of the NAO Souda boats made every effort despite the inconvenience of 24-hour journey from Souda to Ioannina and unfavourable to the draw they broke into the small final race of the skiff and at the double Junior Sculls.
Specifically, the crew of the double Junior Sculls George Saridakis and Fotis Vlachodimos they qualified for the semifinal with a time of 7.20.44 (the fourth best nationwide ) but the unfortunate draw brought them to compete in the small final where they finished in first place (7th Panhellenic)
In skief Theodore Haritakis qualified from the semi-final qualifying race and was able to compete in the small final where he finished in first place with a time of 08.09.07. (7th Pan-Hellenic sixth position and time)
The Four sculls skiff with crew the promising beginners Ouroutzoglou Michael, Basil Cottas, Michael Xepapadakis and George Kouskoumvekakis realized considerable experience from their participation in these national championship after the qualifying race finished in fifth position and repeat the 8th occupying the sixth general position in their class.
Even the novice Scull Nikolidakis Dimitris he has obtained considerable experience having first participated in a national championship finishing in 6th position of his race.
The Athletes of the Group in this difficult and remote mission was accompanied by their coach Mr. Daniel Chomatas and the General Secretary Mrs. Pepi Kelaidi.
The N.A.O. Soudas wants to express his thanks to Crete Shipping Company (Anek Lines) for the support to the Group and the intercity bus Chania Rethymnon, who provided discounted tickets for the move from Souda to Ioannina.
It is also worth noting that the travel and accommodation of the athletes in the National Championships, which the Club is taking part are made with the club’s meagre revenue, and is trying not to financially burden the families of athletes.
Finally please note that the draw of deferred gifts of lottery will be held Friday, August 17 at 21:00. Before the draw will take place a small thanksgiving ceremony for athletes, gymnasts and parents of the rowing section at the Group's offices at the Municipal Nautathletic Rowing centre of Souda.

The second place went to Double Sculls Children's of the N.A.O. Soudas crew Hatzikostas George and Hatzidakis Bill (born in 2000) in the Panhellenic Development rowing Games held in Corfu, 7-8 July 2012 under the auspices of the Greek Rowing Federation for athletes - ages 12 to 14 years, in memory of the N.A.O.Kerkyras rowing champion "Dionysis Nikolouzos".
Also the boys four-skiff with it's crew consisted of John Saridakis, Andreas Hatzidakis, Marios Alevrakis and Ulysses Kouskoumvekakis finished in third place in the small final race of the above events, occupying the ninth position nationwide.

The Board of Directors congratulates the N.A.O.Soudas athletes who worthily represented Souda, Chania, and Crete in the above Panhellenic Games and wishes them success.
Additionally wishes to thank the anonymous Crete Shipping Company (Anek Lines) for the support to the Group and all those who contributed to the lottery to make participation in the National Rowing Championships Growth in Corfu,also parents who framed the Group and helped in this difficult task.

1 Gold 2 Silver and 1 bronze medals won the crews of Nautical Athletic Sports Club of Souda in Rowing races "In memory of Paul Damalas ¨ conducted at the Schinias Olympic Rowing Center Marathon Attica Greece on 01.04.2012 under the auspices of the Greek Rowing Federation (HRO) with the participation of teams from 12 rowing clubs from all over Greece.
The Nautical Athletic Sports Club of Souda participated with 13 athletes who also achieved the following distinctions.
Specifically:
The Kourkoutis Stavros won the 1st place (Gold medal) in the Sculls Event Children's Development.
The Hatzikostas George and Bill Hatzidakis won the 2nd place (Silver medal) in the event of double Sculls Junior Development (born 2000).
The Stamelos Chrysanthos and Gerakakis Aquilas won the 2nd place (Silver medal) in the event of double Junior Sculls.
The Hatzidakis Andreas and Marios Alevras won the 3rd place (Bronze medal) in the event of double Sculls Junior Development.
The Vlachodimos Fotis and George Saridakis arrived in fourth position at the race of the double Junior Sculls.
The Haritakis Ouroutzoglou Theodore and Michael arrived in fifth position at the race of the double Junior Sculls.
The Mananedaki Despina arrived in sixth position at the race of girls Sculls Development.
The Kouskoumvekakis Odysseus arrived in sixth position at the race of Junior Sculls event of the Development.
The Nautical Athletic Sports Club of Souda participated therein in preparation for the 78th National Rowing Championships to be held on 19 -22 April at the Schinias Olympic Rowing Center.

It is worth noting that most athletes who won medals for the first time competed in Olympic Rowing Center at Schinias and distinguished between them the 2 " remarkable babies' who participated in the double skiff Event Junior Development (born in 2000) as announced by the Organising Committee of these Games.
Congratulations deserve to be given to the coaches of the Club Mr. Daniel Chomatas and Mrs Demetra Ladaki for their tireless efforts and instructions that brought those amazing results.
