Extension in registration at universities
Extension in registration at universities and technical colleges for the successful candidates (academic year 2011-2012) of athletes
Extended the dates of registration in the Departments and Schools of Higher Education for the academic year 2011-2012 in the category of athletes until Wednesday, November 23, 2011.
This was announced today by the Ministry of Education
Initially registration were set to take place from 10/11/2011 until 18/11/2011.
Interested parties must submit in person or through an authorized representative to request the Secretariat of the school or part of their success within the above deadline.
With the registration form submitted by the successful candidate has to submit also:
a) 6 pictures in small size and
b) Statutory Declaration that are not enrolled in another school of higher education in Greece.
Please note that those who are enrolled in school shall be deleted in order to enroll in new school introduction.
Clarified that the relevant documentation submitted by the successful Ministry of Education will be sent to the official school.
World title for Tsiavou-Giazitzidou and Postilione

With double world distinction closes this year for the Greek rowing with the double Sculls women with Christina Giazitzidou and Alexandra Tsiavou won the best female crew in the world and the technical adviser of Hellenic Rowing Federation Gianni Postilione leading trainer in the world for 2011 announced today Friday 11/11, the International Rowing Federation.
The three major starring are already at Varteze in Italy where has been conducted a global coaching conference in the proceedings of which will be awarded.
It is the first time that Greek rowers win this award with Gianni Postilione appointed since 2005 at the helm of the Hellenic National team. It is the second time that he won the world title since 2006 and, again as coach of Greece had become the world's leading .
For the important distinction of the two world champions and European champions, spoke the Italian Federal technical adviser.
Alexandra Tsiavou: "I thought we would be in the top three crews. I am already feeling the recognition of the world in our face. We are very happy that we achieved something that has not ever get another Greek rower. I hope that this recognition will not be the last"
Christina Giazitzidou: "It is great honour for us. Behind this title are all those who believed in us, those who voted for us. We thank them all very much and I hope in 2012 we will meet our expectations and their own."
Gianni Postilione: "It's a great honour to win this title for the second time in my career. I am very proud of all these years, not for the medal but for the results in men and women who demonstrate the quality work we have done with minimal number of athletes. I thank all those who trusted us these years. The leading coach work is not solitary. I do not work only with athletes but also with zealous coaches. The team that I have in Greece is truly exceptional. I thank them all. "
For names that pose a candidate for the top titles of 2011, 2000 people voted in , through the official website of World Federation and then the final decision has been taken by the Executive Committee of FISA.
Top men's crew won the double oared without helm of New Zealand with Eric Murray and Chamis Bond and top skiff (disabled person) the Ukrainian ala Lousenko.
Cenobium Training Sunday November 13 at Marathon
With twenty sportsmen and sportswomen begins Sunday, November 13 at Marathon Olympic Rowing Center communal coaching for the National team that will last until 27/11.

Greek Rowing Triumph in Istanbul
Greece was the big winner of the first "Two Nations Cup" in the rowing. The Race between Greek and Turkish 8+ crew was held on Sunday morning (23/10) in the Keratios bay in Istanbul.
At 10.14 am Both boats were launched under the bridge with the presence of many people who stood on the shores of the bay and boats in the tournament. The Greek crew Haitidis Alexander at the helm and Christomanos Constantine, Alexander Louloudi, , George Tzialla, Dionysis Angelopoulos, Ioannis Christou, John chili, and Nick & Apostolos Gkountoulas brothers at the oars, took from the start the lead and despite the somewhat curved path followed by the installed buoys, managed to remain first in the finish.
The final time of the Greek boat at 3000m. distance was 7.57.39 and the Turkish 01.08.87. "It was a different race than the other and we all rejoiced. And I hope next year to have the opportunity to partake in such initiatives," said Nick Gkountoulas and John Christou said "Although we made at least 100m more than the Turkish boat we got finaly the victory. I really enjoyed this experience and hope to continue this institution "
A few minutes after the end Nick Gkountoulas as representative of the creek crew received the heavy and imposing trophy from the hands of the mayor of the region and with other Greek athletes lifted it at the Istanbul skyline to receive together the applause of the world had remain in place.

At the Ecumenical Patriarch the 8+oared crew
The blessing of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew took the crew of the Greek 8+oared boat located in Istanbul this morning so at Sunday (10:00) to take part in the first match between Greece and Turkey 8oared boats called "Two Nations Cup" to be held in Golden Bay .
The Greek delegation attended the holy Liturgy in the church of St. George in Fanar presence of even the patriarchs of Georgia, Serbia and Albania, and then the president of EKOFNS k.Giannis Karras gave the Ecumenical Patriarch, an oar with the white and blue stripes as the (Greek flag) with the signatures of all the athletes of the Greek 8 oared crew .
Mr. Bartholomew was welcomed with great joy the gift of rowing and jokingly told the athletes and escorts the group "this will bring everyone in the class if does not sit well." Then gave his blessing on everyone of the members of the group and took a souvenir picture with them. The Greek team had an unexpected meeting in the courtyard of the Patriarchate and the famous singer Alcestis Protopsalti which welcomed all the athletes and photographed with them.
The Greek crew completed shortly their preparation doing a workout in keratios Bay and now on Sunday (23/10) morning (10:00) is ready to face the Turkish 8+oared . For about an hour the sea area of Keratios Bay will be closed for any boat while the public can watch the race from the coast and along 3.100m. the route.
